Urbaser, one of the four cleaning contractors in Barcelona, has relied on Floox's ultra-fast charging system to recharge its trucks, vans, sweepers and other electric vehicles that have been traveling around the city for months.
A first batch of charging stations were installed at Urbaser's headquarters at the end of April and are already filling the batteries of its fleet. The huge trucks that make it up need higher performance than normal, and it is not just a matter of thinking about charging speed, but also about capacity: an example of this are the Renault Trucks used by Urbaser, with batteries ranging from 200kWh to 565kWh, more than five times the capacity of the batteries of electric cars.
A powerful load such as the one provided by Floox by Premium PSU is imperative here. In addition, details such as the installation of extra-long hoses, by our specialized technicians, was also essential to facilitate Urbaser the maneuverability of the fleet in its facilities, located in the Barcelona industrial area of Bon Pastor. The ultra-fast charging stations are currently located in a temporary area, while the company finishes the complete remodeling of its facilities. And it is not only about the electrification of the fleet, but Urbaser has invested heavily to make all its operations sustainable, also installing photovoltaic energy on the roofs. The fact that the power delivered by the Floox chargers to the fleet of electric vehicles comes from photovoltaic energy allows us all to close the circle, and this type of project is the best example of how the future is being shaped by the cooperation of companies from different sectors.
